The premises will be built at the best possible location; in the immediate vicinity of the main hall and adjacent to large laboratories. The total space is about 330 square meters. The largest area is the team working area, which is around 240 square meters. Special workshops are about 90 square meters. There are six workshop areas: two workshops for electronics, a wood workshop, a metal workshop, a hot work workshop and a painting site. The planning of these facilities and equipment will be continued together with Jamie Hyneman, LUT's experts and industry representatives.

Making of J. Hyneman Center
LUT's Honorary Doctor Jamie Hyneman is taking part in the planning of J.Hyneman Center, which will open in 2018. The center will provide resources and equipment for student teams to test all kinds of ideas and to create prototypes. Supporting the innovativeness of students and the realisation of opportunities is a key task of the center, and it will be open to all LUT Group students.
