Speed building with Jamie Hyneman

Time to step out.



Do you have an idea for a novel product or solution that should be build and tested? It is time to step out, and make the idea to come true with help from Jamie Hyneman! Speed building with Jamie Hyneman offers an opportunity, space and tools for developing an idea into a ‘thing’ and building a prototype. The ideas will be boosted by Mr. Jamie Hyneman, the legendary builder and idea generator.


Schedule:
1. Week 36: Gather a group of friends, and enter your group’s idea to the event. Describe your idea, and how you would like to execute it by answering at least the following questions:
a. What is the core of your idea?

b. How could it be used?
c. Which materials and equipment are needed in building it?
d. Who are your group members?

Send the description (max A4 sheet) to the e-mail address jhc@lut.fi with the title ‘Speed building’ on September 12th at the latest.



2. Week 37: Six ideas will be chosen for further development, and the results will be announced to all participants on September 14th.



3. Week 38: The groups get to know the premises of J. Hyneman Center (JHC). The work processes and equipment are introduced to the groups, and they can start independent work on their ideas at JHC.



4. Week 39: Jamie Hyneman will come to LUT JHC, and help groups to futher develop and build their ideas.



5. On September 29th, the ideas will be rewarded in the JHC opening ceremony at Lappeenranta City Hall.
